Laineys Farm collects, uses and is responsible for certain personal information about you.  When we do so we are regulated under the General Data Protection Regulation which applies across the European Union (including in the UK) and we are responsible for that personal information for the purpose of those laws.

 

We are therefore writing to tell you about the types of data held, why that data is held, and whom it may be passed on to.

 

Laineys Farm collects and holds information on students in order to support their learning, to monitor and report on their progress, to provide appropriate care, and to assess how well Laineys Farm as a whole is doing. This information includes contact details, attendance, care managers, and any relevant medical records.  This information is provided to us by Parents, carers and care managers.

 

In addition, Laineys Farm will occasionally include images of students and staff on the Laineys Farm website and Laineys Farm Facebook Page. Please let Elaine or Toby know if this presents a problem to you and we will take steps to ensure this information is not included.

 

Visitors to the Laineys Farm website may also have information stored by their browser provider ie Google but Laineys Farm does not currently access this data.

 

Parents / carers need to be aware that in exceptional circumstances Laineys Farm may be legally bound to provide information to other bodies such as the police or Local Authority; we will do this with the knowledge of the relevant parent or carer, if we are able.

 

Transfer of data and use by other organisations

 

From time to time we are required to pass on some data to the Local Authority.

The Local Authority uses information about students to carry out specific functions for which it is responsible, such as regular reviews. We may at some time or another link our website to other websites and/or organisations and we are not responsible for any third party Privacy Policy that may be accessed through any link.

 

 

Students rights

 

Pupils, as data subjects, have certain rights under the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act, including a general right of access to personal data held on them, with parents/carers exercising this right on their behalf if they are not able to do so themselves. If you wish to access the personal data held about your son/daughter or caree, please contact Elaine or Toby

 

Changes to our Privacy Policy

 

We keep our privacy notice under regular review and we will place any updates on this webpage. Last update on 21 May 2018.
